The Newsum Bio-Kinetics Health Restoration System is beneficial to anyone whose nervous or immune system has been compromised by stress. Our bodies are designed to cope with small to moderate challenges on an ongoing basis, and moderate to severe challenges occasionally. Our bodies were not designed to cope on an ongoing basis with challenges we perceive to be moderate to severe.

1. A challenge may seem moderate to severe because a person's sensation and dulling are out of balance. In this case, HANDLE® Activities can help effect efficient sensory organization, and Newsum Bio-Kinetics can help relieve tension in the suboccipital muscles, which play a central role in orienting the body to threats, initiating reflex responses to fear and anger, and facilitating eye and neck movement.

Alongside Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback training, the addition of Newsum Bio-Kinetics becomes particularly helpful when organization of sensory systems has improved, when noticeable sensory challenges have been accommodated, but when a "fight, flight, or fright" response persists, along with high levels of coritosol and adrenaline. If not corrected, this ANS imbalance may lead to adrenal exhaustion, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune dysfunction including environmental and food allergies and multiple chemical sensitivities.

The suitability of Newsum Bio-Kinetics for cases of excessive cerebellar receptor desensitization is currently unknown. The Newsum Bio-Kinetics Health Restoration System facilitates quick, natural relaxation in a crucial part of our body's threat-response system. Specifically, a practitioner uses an instrument called a New-Stim™ to gradually increase slight pressure against a suboccipital muscle. The brain "reads" this slight pressure (as little as 4 oz.) from the stretch receptors. At a predetermined point, a ball bearing in the New-Stim™ slips, effecting a sudden release of pressure, which causes the targeted muscle to relax naturally. Due to the centrality of the suboccipital muscles in orienting the body to threats, initiating reflex responses to fear and anger, and facilitating eye and neck movement, this natural relaxation can have far-reaching effects. Problems with fear and anger may subside, allergies and environmental sensitivities may decrease, and movement may become more natural and free.

In a Newsum Bio-Kinetics session, your practitioner will measure stresses induced by tactile stimulation, muscle palpation, and joint mobilization, and will use a New-Stim™ to facilitate your finding a different, more effective response to whatever stresses your body perceives to these systems. Your practitioner will also measure stresses you experience in movement, when thinking of emotional events, and when thinking of viruses, bacteria, toxins, and common allergens—and will again use a New-Stim™ to facilitate your finding different, more effective responses to these stresors.

The Newsum Bio-Kinetics Health Restoration System will often reduce aches and pains throughout the body. In some cases, Newsum Bio-Kinetics may help correct structural imbalances.

Due to the mechanisms by which it works, Newsum Bio-Kinetics is contraindicated for individuals with skull fractures, advanced osteoporosis, or past cranial surgeries. Newsum Bio-Kinetics may also be inappropriate for individuals with severely restricted lymphatic flow, especially if they are not using a natural detoxification program.

Additionally, Newsum Bio-Kinetics may not benefit individuals on Premarin or hormone replacement therapy, due to thalamic-endocrine interrelationships.

Finally, individuals undergoing treatment elsewhere with ultrasound or diathermy may require several months of Newsum Bio-Kinetics sessions before seeing results, since ultrasound and diathermy may effect a reduction in pain by actually damaging the neurolima.
